Resources Industry Workforce Action
Plan

|
RESA has developed the Resources Industry Workforce Action Plan
(RIWAP) in consultation with Industry and in partnership
with the Department for Further Education Employment Science and
Technology (DFEEST).
The RIWAP Launched on the 4 March 2011 by the Honourable Jack
Snelling, then Treasurer and Minister for Employment, Training and
Further Education, was developed to identify the industry demand
for skills and workforce in preparation for the sectors economic
growth. It provides a framework for industry, Education and
VET sector and government to support the provision of effective,
coordinated solutions to the projected resources skills
shortages.
|
The RIWAP identifies a range of outcomes, including a range of
strategies and actions that are currently being supported through
RESAs existing programs.
Critical to the implementation and monitoring of this plan is
ongoing industry consultation, a key role to be played by our newly
established "Resources Workforce Planning Council". The
members of the council represent mining companies, contractors and
SME's.
The first meeting of the Workforce Planning Council will be held
on December 1st 2011.
The RIWAP will be reviewed of the next twelve months, if you are
a stakeholder to the sector and wish to be involved in the review
process please contact Kylie Furnell -
Workforce Development Manager (based in Adelaide) or Paula Bennet - Regional
Manager (based in Port Augusta).
