New power line, renewables to energise OZ Minerals, Electranet

South Australian power infrastructure provider Electranet is expected to spend close to $150 million building a new power line to the state's copper heartland, under an agreement with OZ Minerals.

The new 270 kilometre high voltage power line is the centrepiece of a new energy strategy unveiled by OZ on Friday, and should secure electricity supply to the company's Prominent Hill and Carrapateena mines, plus any future operations in the Gawler Craton region of South Australia.
