Upper Spencer Gulf Workforce Summit
The Upper Spencer Gulf Workforce Summit was held on 15th August to connect industry, government and community stakeholders as we collaborate to maximise the economic, employment and social transformation possible throughout the region at the heart of South Australia's transition to net zero.
Together we can make a positive and lasting impact to include benefit for present and future
generations as we focus on local people into local work opportunities to meet the current and
projected workforce requirements of industry while guaranteeing the viability and success of
the Upper Spencer Gulf through place-based solutions.
Summit Summary - Priorities and Outcomes
New Process Technician Traineeship
RESA has been successful in establishing a new South Australian traineeship to support career pathways for Process Technician roles, with specialisations in Upstream and Downstream oil and gas operations, mineral resources and in readiness for supporting hydrogen production operations. The vocation has been declared in the South Australian Government Gazette on the 27th January 2022.
Higher Education Traineeships Have Arrived!
RESA has been successful in establishing a new South Australian higher education traineeship pathway to support career development into Associate Engineer roles, with specialisations in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Geology and Mining roles. The vocation has been declared in the South Australian Government Gazette on the 23rd December 2021.
New Operations Support Worker Traineeship
RESA has been successful in establishing a new South Australian traineeship pathway to support career entry into resources and infrastructure industry Operations Support Worker roles. The vocation has been declared in the South Australian Government Gazette on the 10th June 2021
